My Baby Hated His First Chicken

I love chicken - fried chicken, baked chicken, cajun chicken, sweet and sour chicken, chicken wings. At the risk of sounding like Bubba Gump, I will end my explanation here. In short, if there's one food that I can eat for the rest of my life, it would be chicken - specially, the southern style with waffles. YUM.

Now that Mikey is old enough for solid food/meat, I was so excited to share with him one of my favorites, only to be disappointed. To be fair, the first time I introduced poultry to him, it was boiled in water with minimal organic, low sodium chicken broth that was pureed to liquid. Not exactly appetizing. I did try it for myself and gagged at the taste of it... Unsurprisingly, he was not very pleased.

I thought the way I cooked it was just the problem and that maybe the taste of ready-made chicken from Gerber would be a game-changer.

Nope. He did not like it at all.

His face said it all. Nope.

So, when I discovered a Gerber Chicken Noodle baby food at the Duane Reade next to my office, I got really excited. Everyone loves chicken noodle soup and I was almost certain that Mikey would love it and yes, he did. He enjoyed every bite of it.
